Who are we?

Lustrumfiesta organizes custom-made travels to Latin America for group of friends celebrating their lustrum. A lustrum is an important tradition among the fraternities in The Netherlands. Every 5 years, students celebrate their friendship by traveling to an incredible destination. No better place than Latin America for a great fiesta!

We organize private and personalized trips from Mexico to Peru for groups of +/- 14 people between the ages of 25 and 30. A year ago we launched Travelfiesta, a new brand for families and couples. We are 200% committed, ensuring a 5 star experience for our clients. By maintaining this high quality, we grew very quickly in a relatively short time. Next year we will be 5 years old, celebrating our own Lustrumfiesta!

Our travelers are young, highly educated, adventurous and fun. They have a great social network in the Netherlands (everyone knows each other) so having satisfied customers automatically means that more groups will come!

Bookings & payments in advance

We reserve the accommodations 6 months to 1 year in advance. We generally book with guides, tour operators and transportation by season, a few months in advance. We always pay for all groups before their season starts.

How did lustrumfiesta start?

The story began with the founders, who called themselves Cuatro Quesos. Jelle, Teun, Sascha and Kees gave up their corporate careers to travel through Central America by car in search of the perfect place to realize their dream: opening a hostel. Traveling to the most remote corners and enjoying life, they couldn’t agree on the location of their future hostel… on the beach, in the city or hidden in the jungle? And should they buy a piece of land and built it themselves or was it better to buy an existing building? While their money was running out, they didn’t get any closer to realizing their dream.

Over time they met many Dutch tourists. With all their experience and knowledge about the countries within Latin America, they quickly realized that they should organize tailor-made trips to earn some money (to stop their cheap diet of eating bread and peanut butter every single day). By accident, they started the most exotic travel agency in The Netherlands.

Mentality

We offer our clients a personalized service. That is why it is essential to understand our clients' wishes and to find (creative) ways to fulfil them. This could be a take-away breakfast from your accommodation, including a bottle of rum during the activity or asking the driver to drive a special route. This can be simple, but there are also challenges in adjusting to our target market, such as organising a private dinner on the beach.

Communication

We greatly value smooth cooperation, which shows in trust and communication. We are always in touch with you and the travellers during their journey. Let us know if the guide or driver is late and ask us for more information if you have questions. We would like to know if there are any problems with our customers or if you have comments to improve the product. We would love to hear about your experiences!
